I found my best friend here! The staff is exceptional, and really listened to what we wanted in a dog. They gave us a few names, and one of them (we didn't realize at first) was the dog we fell in love with and brought home. They totally understood my waiting to come back with my kid, and they were so accommodating every step of the way. They truly know and love their animals, and do their best to find the right forever home for them.
I was a volunteer at the Haven when Barb Williams, it's founder, was still alive, her generous endowment and many of her friends and family allowed this no-kill shelter to become one of the best in Missouri. I have taken stray pets there and I have adopted healthy and special pets from them. They are wonderful. And...Hard working! Their love for all animals is as deep as mine is! Please check out their many dogs and cats if you are looking for a rescue animal. Thanks.
